In the minute of stoppage time before the half, the Netherlands added another goal to stun the Americans and take a 2-0 lead.
It wasn’t until midway through the second half that USA scored, when Haji Wright directed a tipped shot from Christian Pulisic on to goal 76 minutes into the match. But just five minutes later, Denzel Dumfries scored a third to bury the United States and eliminate them from the World Cup.
