Posting to TikTok on Tuesday under the name Sam (@sammizzzz), the woman wrote: “Sorry @Tyler Cameron.” The video has garnered more than 600,000 views and even earned a video response from Cameron, applauding the “10 out of 10” prank. You can watch the full video here.
About Tyler Cameron
Cameron competed for Hanna Brown’s heart on the 15th season of The Bachelorette. He wound up being Brown’s runner-up, but the two briefly rekindled their relationship after the season’s finale aired. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out for the couple, but this didn’t dampen Cameron’s popularity with Bachelor Nation.
In 2019, fans campaigned for Cameron to be the next Bachelor. However, due to his brief albeit public relationship with Gigi Hadid, the position went to Peter Weber, Brown’s second runner-up.
Sam’s Prank
Sam told her followers that she started law school around the time all of this was going on. So, she and her friends set out to find Cameron’s phone number, and somehow, Sam found it. Thus, the prank began.
“Once a year…I basically ask him about homework or finals or something like that, and I pretend I don’t know who it is,” Sam said. “Well, I pretend [that] one of my classmates maybe gave me his number, then I’m like, ‘Hey, Mike, did you do the homework last night?’ or ‘Maybe we can go over the quiz tomorrow together’…and [Cameron] always responds.”
With graduation looming, Sam wants to know if, after all these years, she should invite Cameron to the ceremony.
“Do I invite him to graduation at this point, or do I just send him graduation pictures?” she asked.
In a follow-up video, Sam shared screenshots of some of the messages. One read: “Hey, I know we discussed doing a Zoom study session for professional responsibility. Did you wanna do it tomorrow or Thursday after work? I get off at 4:30.”
Cameron responded, telling Sam she had the wrong number, then said, “screw [her classmate]” for giving her the wrong number.
Cameron’s Response
After watching the videos, Cameron created one of his own.
“So, some of y’all have seen Sammi’s TikTok…and I got the receipts here,” Cameron said. “[The prank] was quite funny.”
He also shared screenshots of their conversations, which show Sam calling him Nick at one point and then Mike at another. Still, Cameron responded to each message and even congratulated her on receiving an A- in her international bankruptcy class.
“Sammi, let me know when the graduation is [and] let me know where it is,” Cameron said. “Overall, great prank—10 out of 10, Sammi.”
Internet Reacts
Viewers thought Sam’s prank was hilarious and called Cameron an “angel” for his response.
“The commitment to this joke is GOLD, I am LAUGHING SO HARD,” savannahmeadows1 said.
“THIS IS HILARIOUS,” Lacie exclaimed.
“The way you just never deleted the texts hahaha,” Sahara told Cameron.
In response to Cameron, Kayla Benedetto added: “You are a literal angel on earth.”
Newsweek reached out to Sam for comment.
